Larose, 24 (5/14/1975), led the Hockey East Conference this season in scoring with 33 points (9 goals, 24 assists) in 24 league games and scored 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) in 39 total games. The senior captain amassed 180 career points (61 goals, 119 assists), placing him eighth all-time on the University of Maine's career scoring list.
The native of Cambellton, New Brunswick received numerous accolades following his senior campaign, including Hockey East's Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award, Hockey East All-Tournament selection, First Team All-Hockey East selection and East Second Team All-American selection.
"Larose had an outstanding collegiate career, contributing to a top notch program," said Risebrough. "He is a fast skater that produces regularly and finds a way to get the job done. "
Larose helped lead the Black Bears to the NCAA semifinal game, which they lost to the eventual national champions, North Dakota. The 6-foot, 188-pound forward scored the game-winning goal against Ohio State in the East Regional of the 1998-99 NCAA Tournament and assisted on the game-winning goal in the Championship Game against New Hampshire. Prior to attending the University of Maine, Larose played two seasons with the Langley Thunder of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League (BCJHL).
