CUP CRAZY PROMOTION HITS TWIN CITIES THIS WEEK
[May 17, 2000] -- SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild announced today that the club has signed a corporate partnership agreement with ANHEUSER-BUSCH . As part of the premier partnership agreement with the club, Bud Light was named the Official Beer of the Minnesota Wild. As per club policy, no financial terms of the multi-year deal were disclosed.
The Minnesota Wild and Anheuser-Busch also unveiled a Cup Crazy promotion that will run in the Twin Cities market thru the 2000 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Participants of the Bud Radio Network at local bars and restaurants can register to win the opportunity to watch a Stanley Cup Finals game with 12 of their friends on High Definition TV in the Minnesota Wild Marketing Center with club officials.
"We are delighted to announce our partnership with Anheuser-Busch," said President Tod Leiweke. "Having a brand like Bud Light as our Official Beer will provide the Minnesota Wild with great opportunities for exposure and awareness."
Anheuser-Busch will receive full integration of team and arena marketing opportunities including prominent Arena signage and sponsorship of one of the two Zamboni'sŪ to be used in the New Saint Paul Arena. Additional highlights of the partnership include:
Hockey Unplugged: a program that encourages fan accessibility to athletes in a casual, low-key atmosphere. Once a month, the Minnesota Wild and Bud Light will invite a hockey celebrity to appear at the Arena Brew Pub and tell hockey stories while interacting with fans.
Hockey Headquarters: hockey fans can join Bud Light and team officials at a designated bar or restaurant to watch ten Minnesota Wild away games during the club's inaugural 2000-2001 NHL season. Fans will interact with NHL Alumni and have the chance to win prizes and the opportunity for the Bud Light Wildest Bars patrol to stop at a local retail outlet.
