MINNESOTA WILD TO VISIT GILLETTE CHILDREN'S SPECIALTY HEALTHCARE IN SAINT PAUL ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 13TH

LOCAL NHL TEAM TO PARTICIPATE IN "NHL's COOLEST GIFTS FOR THE HOLIDAYS" PROGRAM

[December 9, 1999] -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild front office personnel including General Manager Doug Risebrough, CEO Jac Sperling and local Olympic hero and Grass Roots Hockey Advisor Neal Broten will make a special holiday visit to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare (200 East University Avenue) in Saint Paul on Monday, December 13th from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Once again this year, the Minnesota Wild will support Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare's commitment to caring for children with disabilities and chronic conditions.

Risebrough, Sperling, Broten and other team officials will distribute Minnesota Wild and various NHL merchandise as gifts to the boys and girls at the healthcare facility as part of the "NHL's Coolest Gifts for the Holidays" program. The National Hockey League has joined forces with several teams to help children in need during the holiday season. Since the inception of the NHL Coolest Gifts for the Holidays program three years ago, more than $50,000 in merchandise has been donated to local children's charities and hospitals.

Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare's mission is to, "help children and their families realize greater independence and enjoyment in life." Media are encouraged to arrive by 1:45 p.m. and enter Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare on level D of Regions Hospital parking ramp. The hospital is located at 200 East University Avenue on the fourth floor of Regions Hospital (formerly St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center) at the intersection of Jackson Street and University Avenue.

MINNESOTA WILD HOME SWEATER TOP-SELLING NHL UNIFORM

 

[December 17, 1999] -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild official home jersey was unveiled on November 18, 1999 and since that time the jersey has outsold all other NHL teams for four consecutive weeks. The crest of the sweater incorporates a new icon for the Minnesota Wild; the pictogram includes a wild animal, the North Star, evergreen trees, a red sky, the sun and/or moon and a stream.

 

The Minnesota Wild begins play in the Northwest Division of the NHL's Western Conference in the 2000-2001 NHL Season. The team will release the road sweater in mid-2000.
