Johnson High School boys and girls hockey players to help kick-off second phase of Minnesota Hockey NHL's team name effort.

[November 19, 1997] -- Minnesota Hockey NHL will hold a press conference on Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Senior High School, 1349 Arcade Street, Saint Paul to present six team name finalists from names submitted by hockey fans.

The team held an earlier press conference several weeks ago to seek hockey fan input on team name ideas which resulted in more than 13,000 suggestions submitted by over 8,000 fans.

"We're excited as we work towards the goal of choosing a vibrant name for the new Minnesota Hockey NHL team," said Jac Sperling, team spokesperson. "The input from hockey fans has been spectacular, and we hope the short list of six name finalists we are presenting this week will ignite the imagination and further the participation of hockey fans everywhere in Minnesota."
