WILD TO VISIT DULUTH ON THURSDAY, MAY 6TH AS PART OF GRASS ROOTS HOCKEY

[May 4, 1999] -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that CEO Jac Sperling and front office personnel Bill Robertson and Mike Snee will visit the Duluth area on Thursday, May 6th as part of the club's Grass Roots Hockey Initiative. The day-long trip to Duluth will include a round table lunch discussion with local amateur hockey leaders and meetings with Duluth area business leaders. The evening will feature Jac Sperling as the keynote speaker at the 15th Annual Meeting of the Greater Downtown Council at 7:00 p.m. at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center Lake Superior Ballroom. "The Minnesota Wild is excited to bring NHL hockey back to the great hockey fans in Duluth along with the rest of the Upper Midwest," said Sperling. "We are looking forward to visiting Duluth and listening to how we all can contribute to the great Minnesota amateur hockey tradition." MINNESOTA WILD SURPASSES 12,000 SEASON TICKET DEPOSITS[May 18, 1999] -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today the club has surpassed 12,000 season ticket deposits, 17 months before the team begins play and prior to the general sale of suites and club seats. The club must secure 12,000 paid-in-full season tickets (including suites and club seats) by March 31, 2000, according to NHL expansion guidelines. According to Wild front office officials, season tickets are well ahead of expectations. The 12,000th season ticket deposit was submitted by the Jaskowiak family of Bloomington, Minnesota. Mr. Brian Jaskowiak, a squirt hockey coach in Bloomington and a former hockey player at Bloomington Jefferson High School, purchased two tickets for his wife Susan, and son Nicholas, age 10 and daughter Ellie, age 6. Brian, who is a self-employed contractor, plays pond hockey regularly with his children at Westwood Park in Bloomington. The Jaskowiak family received an assortment of Minnesota Wild gift items and a unique tour of the construction site at the New Saint Paul Arena for placing the 12,000 season ticket deposit. "The Minnesota hockey community continues to embrace the return of the NHL in 2000," said Minnesota Wild CEO Jac Sperling. "We appreciate the overwhelming support of all our fans, including the Jaskowiak family." The team is currently accepting $100 non-refundable season ticket deposits for each season ticket. The deposit is used as a reservation for season tickets when the seat selection process begins in the late 1999. MINNESOTA WILD HIRES VICE PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS [May 24, 1999] -- Minnesota Wild CEO Jac Sperling announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club named Laura Day as the team's Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. Day's duties as Vice President of Corporate Partnerships will include the implementation of corporate marketing and suite sales campaigns and the negotiation of local broadcast partnerships. She will also assist in developing the marketing plans for the sale of season tickets and club seats. Day will work closely with Carin Anderson, Director of Corporate Marketing for the Wild. "Laura Day has a proven track record in corporate marketing that speaks volumes of her qualifications," said Sperling. "As Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, she will play an invaluable role in establishing business relationships vital for our long-term success in the Upper Midwest region." Day, 37, comes to the Wild from the National Football League's Minnesota Vikings where she was Director of Corporate Development. Her duties with the Vikings included managing and creating suite sales and corporate sponsorships. Prior to her tenure with the Vikings, Day was employed by Major League Baseball's Minnesota Twins as Director of Corporate Marketing and then as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Day led the strategic planning process and provided overall management of corporate sales, marketing, advertising and promotional operations. The Stillwater native is a member of the Minneapolis Aquatennial Board of Directors. She currently resides in Hugo with her husband Mike. Day will begin her duties with the organization in early June. The Minnesota Wild will begin developing corporate partnership opportunities in the near future. |
