NHL'S MINNESOTA WILD VOLUNTEER FOR LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MENTORING PROGRAM

[February 2, 1999] -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that front office personnel are volunteering at the Cherokee Heights Elementary School in Saint Paul for the Help One Student To Succeed (HOSTS) Program, an on-going volunteer project designed to impact the academic, social and emotional growth of students. The Minnesota Wild will begin the HOSTS mentoring program with the Saint Paul Public Schools in early February.

"Mentoring programs are a great opportunity to have a direct impact on the education of our young people," said Minnesota Wild CEO Jac K. Sperling. "The Minnesota Wild is excited to be involved in the HOSTS mentoring program and encourages others in the community to take an active role in the education of today's youth."

The HOSTS mentoring program is a nationally recognized volunteer mentoring program that has helped over 400,000 students (K-12) in 42 states over the past 25 years. NHL'S MINNESOTA WILD HIRE SUITE SALES STAFF

[February 24, 1999] -- Minnesota Wild CEO Jac Sperling announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club named Tim Wegscheid as the club's Director of Suite Sales for the New Saint Paul Arena. The club also announced that Greg Hoyt will be the club's Suite Sales Manager.

Wegscheid's duties as Director of Suite Sales will include the marketing, promotion and sale of the 74 suites in the arena. The New Saint Paul Arena will have 12 suites on the main concourse level and 62 suites on the exclusive suite level of the multi-purpose facility. The Minnesota Wild will begin the sale of suites in late spring.

"Tim Wegscheid brings a wealth of experience in suite sales and marketing and will be a great addition to the Minnesota Wild team," said Sperling. "Over the next 18 months Tim's experience in this market will help our organization create a solid foundation for our suite sales in the New Saint Paul Arena."

Added Sperling, "Greg Hoyt has been with the organization since its inception. His experience with the organization and his strong commitment to customer service will be valuable assets to our suite sales efforts as we prepare for our inaugural NHL season."

Wegscheid, 38, was formerly the Director of Suite Sales and Marketing with the National Football League's (NFL) Minnesota Vikings from 1993 - 1999. With the Vikings, he was responsible for suite sales, sponsorships and innovative promotional programs.

Prior to his tenure with the Vikings, Wegscheid held the position of Assistant Director of Ticket Sales with the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota North Stars. With the North Stars from 1991 - 1993 he was responsible for suite, season ticket and group sales.

The Wadena, Minnesota native graduated with honors from St. Cloud State (Minn.) University with a degree in Sales and Marketing.

A life-long Minnesota resident, Wegscheid and his wife Dianne reside in Excelsior with their five-year old daughter, Nicole and a two-year old son, Adam.

Hoyt will assist Wegscheid in the marketing, promotion and sale of the 74 suites in the New Saint Paul Arena.

As the first Minnesota Wild employee, Hoyt has worked for the organization in a number of capacities including; arena planning, special events and human resources.

Hoyt, 32, was previously with Twin Cities-based Caribou Coffee Company from its start-up phase as a Market Manager. With Caribou Coffee Company, he was responsible for the promotions and operations of a number of retail stores in the Twin Cities.

The California native graduated from San Diego State (Calif.) University with a degree in music.

Hoyt and his wife Trisha reside in Edina, Minnesota with their two-year old daughter, Lilly.

Wegscheid and Hoyt will begin their duties with the organization immediately. The New Saint Paul Arena is scheduled to open in September, 2000.
