WILD CAP SUCCESSFUL WEEK FOR TICKET SALES, WEBSITE AND MERCHANDISE
[February 3, 1998] -- SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild announced today that the National Hockey League club has surpassed the 10,000 mark for season ticket deposits, 33 months before the team begins playing NHL games. The club also announced its internet website (www.wild.com) had over 100,000 visitors during the 72-hour span from Jan. 23-25. The name and logo was unveiled before an enthusiastic sell out crowd on January 22nd at Aldrich Arena. Excited fans purchased the 3,000 items of Minnesota Wild merchandise on hand in less than an hour. "We are pleased that we are receiving such an overwhelming response to the NHL returning to the state of Minnesota," said Wild CEO Jac Sperling. "We are going to continue to work hard to earn the on going support of our fans as we gear-up for our inaugural season." The Wild's 10,000th season ticket holder, Ms. Michele Leseman, was also announced this week. Ms. Leseman is from Maplewood, Minnesota. Minnesota Wild merchandise is available at JC Penney's and licensed retail stores across the Upper Midwest.
