PAUL AND NHL'S MINNESOTA WILD TO HOST PRESTIGIOUS LESTER PATRICK AWARD
LUNCHEON THURSDAY, MARCH 24
[February 27, 1998] -- SAINT PAUL, Minn.-- The Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with the National Hockey League, the New York Rangers and USA Hockey, will host the prestigious 1998 Lester Patrick Award Luncheon, presented by Bud Ice, on Tuesday, March 24, 1998 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel (11 East Kellogg Blvd.) in Saint Paul. The Lester Patrick Award is presented annually to chosen recipients for "outstanding service to hockey in the United States" in honor of Lester Patrick for his invaluable contributions to both the Rangers and the game of hockey. This year's Award recipients are Neal Broten, Peter Karmanos, Jr., John Mayasich and Max McNab. "The Minnesota Wild are thrilled to host the Lester Patrick Awards in Saint Paul," said Wild CEO Jac Sperling. "This event will showcase some of the most respected names in hockey, including local heroes Neal Broten and John Mayasich." Proceeds from the Luncheon will benefit USA Hockey, Inc., the non-profit governing body for the sport of hockey in the United States and an organizational partner of the Award Ceremony with the NHL and the Rangers since 1994. The 1998 honorees will join an honored list of previous recipients, many of whom will be in attendance on March 24th. An individual reservation is $100.00.
