[April 1, 1997] --
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY OF COMMISSIONERS TOURING CIVIC CENTER ARENA:
  News media personnel should report to the 7th Street entrance of the Civic Center no later than 2:45 p.m. From 3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. photographers will be allowed into the arena to take pictures of the committee examining the structure. No question and answer session. News crews are asked to leave the building at 3:30 p.m.
INFORMAL BRIEFING WITH NHL COMMISSIONER GARY BETTMAN:
  At 3:50 p.m. National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman will be available for a short question and answer session in the upper lobby of the St. Paul Companies headquarters, 385 Washington Street. RSVP to Paul Adelmann if you are sending a crew, so you can get through building security. Proceed to the front entrance at 385 Washington. Check in with security, and go up the escalator to the upper lobby. Mr. Bettman will make a short statement in the seating area of the upper lobby, and will take a few questions before departing.
RALLY TO RENOVATE THE CIVIC CENTER AND BRING NHL HOCKEY HOME:
  The public begins gathering in Rice Park at 3:30 p.m. and a live band begins to play. At 4:30 p.m. Master of Ceremonies Al Shaver is introduced; he and Lou Nanne speak and Jim Bowers sings the national anthem. At 5 p.m. program begins and by 5:10 p.m. Mayor Coleman arrives in a trolley at 5th and Washington, takes the stage to address the crowd and leads the chant: "Bring Hockey Home."
FINAL NEWS CONFERENCE FOLLOWING COMMITTEE DEPARTURE:
  Mayor Norm Coleman and Robert Naegele Jr. of the ownership group will answer questions at 7 p.m. in Room 40-A in the basement of City Hall. Enter 4th Street side.
